What is In Bound Marketing

Now more than ever, being “found” on the web is crucial. With each new computer, tablet and smart phone sold consumers are looking for what they need online. Inbound marketing is a term used to define customers that actively search out goods and services as opposed to outbound (or disruptive) marketing where businesses promote their services through more disruptive practices (think radio/TV ads, direct mail, etc.). More and more people every day are using search engines as a way of finding and researching new businesses (inbound marketing). When it comes to shaping consumers’ perception of your business, it isn’t enough to just show up in online search results; it is a matter of where you rank. Over 40% of users 25-44 years old associate top search results with company prominence. If you don’t hold a page one rank in your area, someone else does.

Managing your search engine presence is a multi-faceted effort: 1) Search Engine Optimization and 2) Pay-Per-Click Marketing.

1) Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of optimizing on-site elements of a website, as well as off-site elements related to the website, in order to make the website appear to be more relevant and trustworthy to the search engines for a group of keywords, which effectively brings the site to the top of the search results. If your business does not rank in the top 20 of the results returned from a search, there is little to no chance of receiving a visit to your site and therefore, your business.

2) Pay-Per-Click (PPC) marketing allows a site to purchase “sponsored listings” on the side or top of the natural search results. The website is charged a predetermined fee when a searcher clicks on their listing. Pay-per-click campaigns can be launched quickly and they are the most immediate way to get traffic to your website.

Looking at ways to create effective inbound marketing programs is good business. Remember if you are not utilizing things like search marketing (SEO and PPC) your competition is!

Overton’s Makes a Splash with Video Email

The DofM has jumped on board with Overton’s Waterports (www.Overtons.com) to help them go video viral! Originally partnering on Media Strategy & Promotions, we recently teamed with them utilizing a new technology; Video Email or “VMail”. By combining video with email communications a powerful medium has been created. Overton’s utilizes vmail to reach out to their customers announcing events, promotions and sales. The open rates for vmail versus traditional email are exponentially higher. Check out this Vmail we created for them to push their upcoming Black Friday Sale the day after Thanksgiving!

Order Up! Margaux’s Restaurant Launches New Site

The North Raleigh landmark that is Margaux’s Restaurant just got a facelift. Don’t panic all of you regulars and frequent diners – the food, staff and ownership are still in place and cranking out award winning food, but we recently launched the new website! We are very excited by the way the website turned out and think it really captures the true essence of Margaux’s wonderful food and high style décor.

Website visitors will be able to check out the daily-changing menus, see nightly specials and events, as well as, follow daily tweets from the owners on what’s happening in the restaurant. DofM Launches Accentuate Staffing Website

Accentuate Staffing came to the DofM to create a website that was in keeping with their unique way of doing business. After learning more about them it became clear that Accentuate does things differently and we needed to capture that in their website. The personality of this Raleigh based placement agency is light, creative, positive and fun. We did our best to bottle that mojo and infuse it into their new website (www.AccentuateStaffing.com).

The site features illustrations or “peeps” which create a visually dynamic feel replacing the text heavy pages of the former site. The site also incorporates video and social media. Jobs are posted daily to the site that in turn auto feed to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Videos are also showcased throughout the site, providing applicants the latest information on new job opportunities.

Phantom of the Opera ain’t got nothing on this event!

On Saturday, March 5th from 8pm to midnight, the coolest party in Raleigh will kick off…it’s called Masqueradium (www.Masqueradium.com). This event will be held at 7, a boutique event space between downtown Raleigh and 5 Points (www.7Raleigh.com) and will benefit The Continuous Blessings Foundation (www.ContinuousBlessings.org).
